How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of being and ideal grace.
I love thee to the level of every day's
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for right.
I love thee purely, as they turn from praise. I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints. I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life; and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.
-- Elizabeth Barrett Browning
I sometimes wonder if it is ever possible to love any as much. To love someone as much would be love yourself lesser or maybe not.
Do they even make people who love as much and who can be loved as much anymore?

To be brutally honest No! People are to a certain degree narcissistic, self centered and insecure to love anyone as much. To love someone as much would mean acknowledging their vulnerability and weakness, and so far i am not sure if I have seen that much love. But it is possible to count other ways in how I love or anyone loves. Love at great depths is an acquired art, something that comes in fits and lies low cloaked in subtle glances, tender touch and warm kisses.
Isn't this common? I mean, a parent's love for his/her child - could it not be compared with what's written? :)
P.S.: How's the RSS/Atom feed enabling coming along? It's just a few clicks away. :)
The answer to your question... is right here writing this comment:-D
@caco the whacko!
hey gal...seeing ur comments after sometime now...hmmmm If love lies in tender touches and warm kisses heheheh am all for it...kidding...agreed da...itz def an acquired art where I get conditioned to being around people...parents bro anybody....but still the sense that this poem conveys is still beyond my ability to love da...!
at joker: I thought abt it too pal...when I write something like that I have obviously included that in my thoughts... to me to love some1 beyond my folks and bro is unimaginable itself...but even the level for parents and bro isnt quite like what Ms.Browning mentions!!!

I believe in people.
I believe in their capabity to love.
But its for them to find it inside them the capability to.
Its the searching and trying which is often missing i think.
Or maybe its fear of abandon...to love and only to love..and not receive.
toughie... :)
But Browning often talks about this sense of unconditional love in her poems...they say its becoz she was insecure about Robert Browning's (her husband!)love for her coz she was an invalid. They ran away and got married...its an interestin love story there.

true... sometimes i think it weakens me when I love a person so much... and ya I know the barrett browning love story(though am not a psycho litt journo major;))!
It is beyond anybody's capacity to love as much as she says. It would be beyond the realm of possibility. To love someone as much would also mean to love yourself a little less. I am just too into me to do that. Maybe it is just me.

Akila, you have to put a link on your blog for that feed - somewhere in your sidebar or links section, add a link to http://akilamoni.blogspot.com/atom.xml - an HTML tag like the "a" tag (I'm unable to provide the details here since blogger doesn't show them as I want it to)
- either near the "Compatriots..." or "About Me" - these are not the best places, that's why I said "near". You can do this in your settings->template on the dashboard. Instead of an HTML tag, you could also use Blogger's tags for the same effect.
Don't forget to republish your entire blog once you've done this!
For more information on enabling and using feeds, also check out Publishing site feeds - this shows the blogger tag method.
